Feng Shui
The literal meaning of which, is wind and water depends entirely
on the positions of structures that are present in the external
orientation of a premise as well as the internal placement of
various elements that include water, wood, fire, earth and metal along
with the positioning of your decor. One must also take into
consideration the flow of energy emanating from these positioning
/placements on a physical as well as an esoteric level.
Many charlatans do not understand the true meaning of the
placements of the elements. For e.g. If in a particular sector, say a
bedroom if one finds that it requires the element water, a person who has
not studied the art deeply would recommend either a colour representing
water or recommend placing actual water in that sector. Let me
clarify here that some who say that water should never be placed in the
bedroom are wrong. If it is required one can place actual water in
the bedroom however if it is ‘moving water’ then certain principles
should be followed very strictly. On the other hand if it is not
required, (again depending on the actual computation of one’s
home/office structure) then water can definitely be detrimental. However apart from the
tangible placement of water (if required) it is very essential to bring
your day to day conduct and behavior patterns parallel to the “nature” of
water; In other words to make the attributes representing water in this
instance, a part
of your life!
What you may ask are these? For one it is being flexible! If one is
living in a bedroom where water is required then even if there is water
present, it is extremely necessary to be flexible and not rigid where this
attitude adds to the cure; sometimes with startling results!!
Many such things go on to make Fengshui the unique art/science that
it is. Its origin comes from the Indian Vaastu that left our shores
during the time
of Gautam Buddha and has become the versatile and beneficial
discipline that we now know as Fengshui. Just placements of object do
not make for actual
Fengshui rather there is a practical level of calculation that is
done thereby computing an actual ‘Fengshui Audit’. This ‘Fengshui Audit’
can give one,
information of what is happening in a particular
office/factory/company or house. One brings change by working out the
‘horoscope’ of a premise and matching
it to the people living or working in it. It has to be tailor made
for each family/organization.
Different types of Fengshui include BTB, 8 mansions, Flying stars,
Water dragon methods etc.. When we have the basic principles of Sha and
Sheng Qi as well as the forms in place, the foundation of a premise
becomes very strong with respect to Fengshui.
BTB
BTB is also known as Black Hat Sect Tantric Buddhism and was
founded in the 1980’s by Professor Lin Yun where he smartly adapted
Fengshui into a ready to
use formula by creating 9 sectors that represented the
family/members in a home or an organization and created a
representation for each member of either
a family or an organization. This segregation of 9 different parts
of a home or a business premise that represent different people or
activities either in
a home or a business is not altogether wrong because of the adage
‘what we see is what we imbibe’. When we place certain cures and
something is a constant
reminder, it helps bring that same something into our lives. Now
this can work both positively as well as negatively depending on what we
do ‘see’.
There is no use of the compass in this type of Fengshui. This
system brings limited results.
8 Mansions
Also known as the 8 House system or the East and West system or
even the Compass school. This type of Feng Shui deals entirely with
which group someone
belongs to, East or West. It is believed that people from the East
group will not be compatible with people/dwellings from the west group.
To a certain
extent this is true but it is only one small aspect of what is
actual Fengshui is. To put it in a nutshell people of Ming gua’s
(personal number but not
to be confused with numerology) 1,3,4 and 9 will have favorable
directions in North, South, Southeast and East while people of Ming
gua’s 2,6,7 and 8
will have favorable directions in Southwest, North west, West and
Northeast. (Please use this information at your own discretion). This
system also has
limited but better results than BTB.
The Flying stars Method
Also known as the Time and Space Fengshui by my teacher Master
Joseph Yu, this form of Fengshui deals with the Facing and Sitting stars
along with the
Time star to ascertain accurately what is happening in a particular
premise be it a residential or a commercial premise. What are the
Flying stars? They
are a set of figures referred to as Mountain Time and Facing stars.
The Mountain or sitting star if well supported or enhanced brings good
health and
fertility while the Facing star most certainly brings wealth and
abundance when enhanced. The Time star on the other hand refers to the
period when the
building was constructed and is a guest in this triangle and acts
as a precursor to the Facing and Sitting stars who act as hosts in
getting beneficial
results. It can also denote how a particular outcome both, positive
or negative is achieved. When combined with forms this is a highly
accurate form of
Fengshui and can bring amazing results. There is hardly any
negative to this method except when a practitioner is inexperienced.
The Water Dragon Method
A more advanced method of Fengshui, it can bring astounding results
when applied correctly. This method requires one to be precise in terms
of the ‘24 mountains’ of a particular chart in a floor plan. The placement
of simple cures when applied with this method can bring results that
surprise us!
The calculations done with this method is very practical and
scientific and when placed with the correct date and time selection
methods (again done
by scientific calculations) can sometimes bring results as quickly
as a couple of weeks.
Besides this another important aspect of Fengshui which is to be observed are
the rules of the San Sha and Tai Sui.
Also known as the 3 killings, it can bring detriment to people living in the house
if not used appropriately. The San Sha for 2021 falls in the NE3-E2-SE1. Of these E2 is
the most detrimental. Any digging or movement in this area can bring disaster especially
if your home or office faces this area directly.
The Tai Sui (also known as the Grand Duke of Jupiter) falls in NE1
and the Sui Po in the SW1. Of these use the energy of the Tai Sui to
enhance all your work i.e. don’t face it rather sit with your back to this
direction to get the most out of the Tai Sui. Never sit in the area of
the San Sha as this can bring theft, lawsuits, injuries, accidents etc; depending
on how much negative stimulation it receives. These are especially
relevant when ground breaking is done by builders so any construction/ ground
breaking in these areas can bring problems if cures are not placed
according to the relevant facing and particular time i.e. month and date (This
selection is not done by the Vedic methods.)
